Responsible gambling

Updated: 10 August 2026

Betting is entertainment, not an income. Over any long run the mathematical edge sits with the casino or the bookmaker.

Questions worth asking yourself

  • Are you staking again to win back what you lost
  • Are you hiding the play from family or friends
  • Is the money borrowed, or was it meant for the household
  • Do you feel restless when you do not play
  • Has sleep, work or study started to suffer

One yes means it is time to stop for the day. Two or more means it is time to ask someone for help.

Practical ways to stay in control

  • Set the limit before you start — an amount and a length of time
  • Never raise the limit after a loss, under any reasoning
  • Keep a separate account that household money does not touch
  • Do not play while drinking or while under pressure
  • Use the operator’s deposit limits and time-out tools if offered

Where help is

When play stops feeling like a choice, the first step is telling someone — a family member, a friend, a doctor. Gambling addiction is treatable and there is nothing shameful in it. Operator support can close an account or set a break on request, and such a request is not refused.

Nobody under eighteen

Betting by minors is prohibited. If age surfaces during identity verification the account is closed, and any balance on it becomes a problem rather than a payout.
